Greenwich defeats JHS girls tennis

JOHNSTOWN - The Greenwich girls tennis team won four of five singles matches and both doubles contests on its way to a 6-1 win over Johnstown in a Foothills Council match Friday at Knox Field.

Alexis Berry posted the lone win for the Lady Bills.

Greenwich 6, Johnstown 1

Singles

No. 1: Boyce (G) def. Vandenburgh, 6-1, 6-1.

No. 2: Pellington (G) def. Kranbuhl, 6-7, 7-6, 6-1.

No. 3: Thomas (G) def. Stergas, 6-0, 6-1.

No. 4: Berry (J) def. Curley, 6-1, 6-1.

No. 5: Hunter (G) def. Smith, 6-2, 6-4.

Doubles

No. 1: Ferrandino/Molino (G) def. Defrancis/Brunetto, 6-1, 6-2.

No. 2: Wright/Strasswimmer (G) won by forfeit.
