SCHENECTADY - Glove Cities Colonials quarter Justin Kastner returned to the lineup Saturday night and threw for 260 yards and two touchdowns.
However, it was not enough as the Troy Fighting Irish built on the momentum of two late first half touchdowns to defeat the Colonials 49-20 in the Northeastern Football Alliance semifinal game Saturday night at Schenectady High School.
Brian Baldwin and Bennard Byrd caught Kastner's touchdown strikes, while Tymear Mallory ran for a touchdown. Kastner completed 14 of 34 pass attempts for 260 yards.
Defensively, the Colonials were led by Jason Quinn's six tackles, while Jevon Jones and Jimmy Meher had five apiece and Devon Gaytan had four tackles and an interception.
"I want to say thank you to all the fans for their support this season," Colonials coach Matt Capano said.
