H.S. Volleyball Roundup: B-P outlasts South Glens Falls, 3-2

SOUTH GLENS FALLS - Maddie Gurga had eight kills, seven digs and six assists to lead Broadalbin-Perth to a 3-2 win over South Glens Falls in a Foothills Council volleyball match Friday.

The Lady Patriots won by scores of 13-25, 25-17, 23-25, 25-23 and 25-23.

Amy Walendziak posted four digs, two kills and two aces for B-P (1-1 overall, 1-1 Foothills), while Allison Lysiak posted five kills, two aces and two assists.

Regan Reed added six digs and for kills for the Lady Patriots, and Caitlin Rasefske had eight assists and five digs.

Gloversville 3, Glens Falls 0

GLENS FALLS - Megan McCall had 10 service points, three kills and a block to lead Gloversville to a sweep of Glens Falls.

The Huskies won 25-8, 25-14 and 25-8.

Alex Bielli posted 14 points and three aces for Gloversville (2-0 overall, 2-0 Foothills), while Katlyn Pierce had four kills, four aces and four blocks.

Queensbury 3, Johnstown 1

QUEENSBURY - Annie Stock had 20 kills, eight digs and three aces in a losing effort for Johnstown.

The Spartans won by scores of 25-22, 23-25, 25-22 and 25-21.

Jerica Holland posted seven assists and eight aces for Johnstown (1-1 overall, 1-1 Foothills), while Zara Hyde finished with 15 assists. Liz Hayward recorded 17 digs for the Lady Bills and Alyssa Nellis added six kills and five blocks.

Canajoharie 3, Duanesburg 2

CANAJOHARIE - Emma Stortecky had 16 service points, 15 assists and three aces to lift Canajoharie to a win.

The Lady Cougars won by scores of 17-25, 25-17, 15-25, 25-19 and 25-13.

Shyanna Logan posted 14 service points, nine kills, seven digs and five aces for Canajoharie (1-0 overall, 1-0 WAC), while Rose Trahan added 10 points, three digs and two aces.

Rachel Gamache had 13 points and seven aces for Duanesburg (0-1 overall, 0-1 WAC), while Rebecca Gallup had seven kills, three digs and three blocks.

Mayfield 3, Schoharie 1

MAYFIELD - Karissa Morey had 10 service points, 10 assists, four kills and two aces to lead Mayfield to a win over Schoharie.

The Lady Panthers lost the first game 25-19 before rallying to win the final three games by scores of 25-16, 25-20 and 25-22.

Nicole Little had nine points, eight kills and two blocks for Mayfield (2-0 overall, 1-0 WAC), while Kaylee Bumpus added five points and five kills.

Mackenzie Biggers added three assists and a strong defensive effort for the Lady Panthers.

Brianna Borst had 14 points and three aces for Schoharie (0-1 overall, 0-1 WAC), while Ally Blyth had 15 points, nine kills and three aces.

Berne-Knox-Westerlo 3, Fort Plain 0

BERNE - Kaitlind Horlacher finished with 12 digs and six aces to lead defending WAC South Division champion Berne-Knox-Westerlo to a sweep of Fort Plain in its first match in the new Ray Shaul Gymnasium.

The Bulldogs won by scores of 25-10, 25-17 and 25-19.

Gabriella Audino registered 20 assists, 10 aces and five digs for Berne-Knox-Westerlo (1-0 overall, 1-0 WAC), while Danielle Hubbard had eight kills and two blocks.

Emily Potter and Brandy Walters each had six points for Fort Plain (0-1 overall, 0-1 WAC).

Galway 3, Mekeel Christian 0

GALWAY - Adrianna Watrobski finished with 38 service points, 10 aces and three assists to power Galway to a sweep of Mekeel Christian Academy.

The Golden Eagles won by scores of 25-6, 25-6 and 25-7.

Hayley Martin had six points, five kills and four aces for Galway (1-0 overall, 1-0 WAC), while Rachel Jones finished with six points, three kills and three blocks.

Saratoga Catholic 3, Middleburgh 0

SARATOGA SPRINGS - Elle Valentine finished with 17 service points, seven assists and five aces to lead Saratoga Catholic to a sweep of Middleburgh.

The Lady Saints won by scores of 25-12, 25-15 and 25-21

Sierra Matthews had 11 service points and two aces for Saratoga Catholic (1-0 overall, 1-0 WAC), while Erin Thornton had four kills.

Shania Marotta had four aces and three kills for Middleburgh (0-1 overall, 0-1 WAC).
