Girls Soccer Roundup: Northville edges Mayfield in OT

NORTHVILLE - Lyndsey Wadsworth scored in the second overtime to lift Northville to a 3-2 win over Mayfield in a Western Athletic Conference girls soccer game Friday.

Veronica Arceri assisted on the game-winning goal for the Lady Falcons and scored the game's first goal.

Kelly VanNostrand also scored for Northville (1-0-1 overall, 1-0-1 WAC), while Wadsworth added an assist.

Abby MacFarland and Hanna Cromie scored for Mayfield (0-2 overall, 0-2 WAC).

Joanna Schulte made five saves for the Lady Falcons, who outshot the Lady Panthers 16-7.

Jennifer Little made nine stops for Mayfield.

Fort Plain 3, Sharon Springs 0

SHARON SPRINGS - Kasie Hext, Haley Kilmartin and Makaila Belden scored to lead Fort Plain to a shutout win over Sharon Springs in a Western Athletic Conference contest.

Allehah VanLoan and Katlyn Trumbull each had an assist for the Lady Hilltoppers (1-1 overall, 1-1 WAC).

Jenna Barhydt (6 saves) and Mackenzie Stevens (8 saves) shared the shutout win in goal for Fort Plain.

Alexis VanArsdale made 16 stops for Sharon Springs (0-3 overall, 0-2 WAC).

Canajoharie 1, St. Johnsville/Oppenheim-Ephratah 0

ST. JOHNSVILLE - Canajoharie's Melissa Bowley was credited with the game's only goal following an own goal by St. Johnsville/Oppenheim-Ephratah with three minutes remaining in the second overtime.

Lauren Balfe and Andrea Dingman combined to make six saves to share the shutout win in goal for Canajoharie (2-0 overall, 2-0 WAC).

Leann Knapp made 18 saves for St. Johnsville/Oppenheim-Ephratah (1-1 overall, 1-1 WAC).

Galway 5, Mekeel Christian 2

GALWAY - Erica Chase finished with three goals and an assist to lead Galway to a Western Athletic Conference win over Mekeel Christian Academy.

Abby Spagnola added a goal and an assist for the Golden Eagles (3-0 overall, 2-0 WAC), while Molly Mancini also scored. Kelly Phillips and Felicia Snyder each had an assist for Galway.

Macie Holmes scored both goals for Mekeel Christian (0-1-1 overall, 0-1-1 WAC).

Rebekah Reichard had eight saves for the Golden Eagles, while Emily Taplin made 14 stops for Mekeel Christian.

Berne-Knox-Westerlo 2, Schoharie 1

SCHOHARIE - Sarah Abbott and Makayla McCormick scored to lead Berne-Knox-Westerlo to a win over Schoharie.

Delaney Martin had an assist for the Bulldogs.

Kaitlyn Kendle scored for Schoharie on an assist from Jillian Scofield.

Elizabeth Harvey made 28 saves for BKW, while Lindsey Vanier had 19 saves for Schoharie.
