Artist’s work featured at library

FONDA - The Frothingham Free Library, 28 W. Main St., will feature the work of Jeffrey Meuwissen of Mayfield this month.

Meuwissen received a bachelor's degree in forestry from Michigan State University. He is a retired forester who worked for New York state Department of Environmental Conservation for 33 years.

Among other pursuits, a news release said, he focuses on woodworking and stained glass. Meuwissen has been a stained glass artist for 25 years and a woodworker for more than 50 years. He is a self-taught artist, who learned beginning stained glass from Adirondack Stained Glass in Gloversville in 1988.

Meuwissen has won numerous awards from Northeastern Woodworkers Association, Cooperstown Art Association, Otsego County, and Mohawk Valley art and Woodcarving Association, the release said.
