Boys Soccer Roundup: B-P ties South Glens Falls

SOUTH GLENS FALLS - Ben Bellandi scored with less than a minute left in regulation to lift Broadalbin-Perth to a 1-1 tie with South Glens Falls in the league opener for both teams Wednesday.

Scott Everson assisted on the B-P goal.

Kyle Ogden scored South Glens Falls' lone goal just 39 seconds into the contest on an assist from Luke VanDixhorn.

Josh Hay made nine saves for South Glens Falls (2-0-1 overall, 0-0-1 Foothills).

Matt Myers (1 saves) and Pat Brown (2 saves) combined to make three saves for the Patriots, who outshot the Bulldogs by a 14-7 margin.

Broadalbin-Perth (2-0-1 overall, 0-0-1 Foothills) will host Queensbury on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Scotia-Glenville 1, Queensbury 0

SCOTIA - Country Moran scored the game's lone goal to lift Scotia-Glenville to a Foothills Council win over Queensbury.

Connor Flaherty assisted on the goal for the Tartans.

Adam Ashcroft made five saves for Scotia-Glenville (3-0 overall, 1-0 Foothills), while Pat O'Mara made six saves for Queensbury (0-3 overall, 0-3 Foothills).

Western Athletic Conference

Fort Plain 2, Canajoharie 0

FORT PLAIN - Joe Ray and Marcus Failing scored to lead Fort Plain to a win over Canajoharie.

Aiden VanLoan had an assist for the Hilltoppers (2-1 overall, 1-0 WAC).

Chris Hanifin had seven saves to record the shutout win in goal for Fort Plain.

Galway 4, Mayfield 1

MAYFIELD - Josh Bailey scored all four goals to power Galway to a Western Athletic Conference win over Mayfield.

Jordan Ryder scored the lone goal for Mayfield (0-1 overall, 0-1 WAC).

Evan Ceroalo made three saves for Galway (1-0 overall, 1-0 WAC), which outshot Mayfield by a 9-4 margin.

Ryan Hennessy made five stops for the Panthers.

St. Johnsville/Oppenheim-Ephratah 7, Sharon Springs 0

ST. JOHNSVILLE - Tristan Engle and Johnny Vicciarelli each scored two goals to lead St. Johnsville/Oppenheim-Ephratah to a shutout win over Sharon Springs.

Kyle Smith, Kody Brown and Jimmy Rumrile also scored for St. Johnsville/Oppenheim-Ephratah, while Smith and Brown each had two assists. Vicciarelli also had an assist for St. Johnsville/Oppenheim-Ephratah (1-0 overall, 1-0 WAC).

Ricky Jasewicz had 13 saves for St. Johnsville.

Berne-Knox-Westerlo 3, Duanesburg 0

DUANESBURG - Sam Abbott had a goal and an assist to lift Berne-Knox-Westerlo to a Western Athletic Conference win over Duanesburg.

Tate Repsher and Nick Nagengast also scored for the Bulldogs (1-0 overall, 1-0 WAC).

Zach Wissenback made 12 saves for Duanesburg (0-1 overall, 0-1 WAC).

Schoharie 2, Middleburgh 0

SCHOHARIE - James Sacket and William Vedder scored to lead Schoharie to a WAC win over Middleburgh in the season opener for both teams.

Tanner Stone added an assist for the Indians (1-0 overall, 1-0 WAC).

Colonial Council

Voorheesville 3, Fonda-Fultonville 2

VOORHEESVILLE - Kevin Clark, Manny Wiest and Luke Gorka scored to lead Voorheesville to a win over Fonda-Fultonville.

Joe Fox had a goal and an assist for Fonda-Fultonville (0-2 overall, 0-2 Colonial), while Tom Dwyer also scored.

Tyler Folmsbee had 19 saves for the Braves, while Scott Warren had two stops for the Blackbirds.
