Violet L. "Mutzy" Hall, 74, of South Main Street, Dolgeville, died Sunday, September 2, 2012, at Palatine Nursing Home following a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Brooklyn on August 15, 1938, a daughter of William and Myrtle Monroe Barben and was educated there. Mrs. Hall moved to Broadalbin in 1960 where she resided for more than than 40 years.
She was employed at the C&R Restaurant in Galway for many years.
Mutzy was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary, both in Broadalbin.
She was very proud of her Cherokee heritage.
She was married to James L. Hall on July 4, 1988. He died January 21, 2004.
Survivors include her sons, William Moore of Whitemire, S.C., Wayne Moore of Little Mountain, S.C., and Warren Creglis of Gloversville; her daughters, Dawn Moore of Lexington, S.C., and Darcy Washburn of Broadalbin; her close friend, Michelle Markert of Palatine Bridge; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Cremation was performed at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home Inc., 111 County Highway 106, (Corner of Route 29 and Black Street) Johnstown. A joint ritual by the local auxiliaries will be conducted at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Final burial of remains will take place at Foster Hill Cemetery, Galway at the convenience of the family.
