Florence Jeffers, age 91, of Johnstown Passed away on Saturday September 1, 2012, at the Wells Nursing Home.
She was born on July 27, 1921, in Johnstown, a daughter of the late Stephen Kovarik and Anna Palcovic Kovarik.
Florence was a graduate of Johnstown high School.
She was employed as a glove worker for the former Crescendoe Glove Company and also the Superb Glove Company until her retirement.
She was a member of the former St. Anthony's Church and the church sokol.
An avid golfer she golfed in many local senior leagues and during this time she aced four hole-in-ones.
Mrs. Jeffers was predeceased by her husband, Fay Jeffers.
Survivors include one son George (Cindi) Jeffers of Johnstown; three daughters Margaret "Peggy" (Chris) Wilson of Palatine Bridge, Marilyn (Jim) Corbett of Johnstown and Kathy (Gary) Craner of Syracuse; eight grandchildren and Five great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by three brothers Frank, Stephen and George Kovarik; and one sister, Mary Kovarik.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 12:15 p.m. at the Holy Trinity Church, Glebe Street, Johnstown.
Visitation will be on Tuesday prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. at the church.
Interment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Johnstown.
Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the charity of ones choice.
