WARRENSBURG - Kevin Shannon had 26 carries, 206 yards and four touchdowns to power Canajoharie to a 42-20 Class D win over Warrensburg on Saturday.
After the Burghers scored the first points of the game scored the next 30 to take control.
Shannon scored on runs of 8, 13, 5 and 45 yards for the Cougars.
Dillan Veeder scored on a 48-yard pass from Nick Taylor, who was 2-for-3 for 82 yards for Canajoharie.
Alex Renzi added a 1-yard touchdown run for the Cougars. He finished with 14 carries for 84 yards.
Jordan Griswold had a 30-yard field goal and three extra points for Canajoharie.
The Cougars also beneftted from seven Warrensburg turnovers.
Seth Ferguson recovered two fumbles for Canajoharie, while Sebastian DeCrenzo, Tyler Belmonte, Alex Renzi and Kevin Shannon each had one. Veeder added an interception for the Cougars.
Zack Folts had one catch for 34 yards for the Cougars.
Malachi Prosser had two touchdowns and 142 yards on 18 carries for Warrensburg (0-1 overall, 0-1 Class D), while Joey Schuster had 89 yards on 16 carries.
Shea Irish completed the scoring for the Burghers with a 3-yard touchdown catch from Marcus Perrone as time expired in the fourth quarter.
Canajoharie will host Lake George on Friday at 7 p.m.
