Pamela Gruber Rehbein

Pamela Gruber Rehbein passed away peacefully on August 28, 2012, at her daughter's home. She was born in Bronxville, N.Y., on February 23, 1947, to Wendell F. Gruber and Marjorie Jackson Gruber. She was a hairdresser for over 25 years and enjoyed her work and her clients.

She married Lauren G. Rehbein on March 16, 1968, and they raised their family in Johnstown, N.Y. She was well known in the community as a fun-loving, warm-hearted person welcoming everyone into her home.

In addition to her long-time companion, William C. Daniels, she is survived by her children, Jeffrey Michael Rehbein of Syracuse, N.Y., Jessica Lauren (Rehbein) Bunn of Raleigh, N.C., Joseph Winfield Rehbein of Syracuse, N.Y., and Candi Sue (Barrows) Schoneman of Florida. A devoted grandmother, Pamela, is also survived by her three beloved grandchildren, Nicholas Steven Bunn, Taylor Jessica Rehbein-Walker, and Trevor Wayne Rehbein-Walker; and numerous very special nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister, Carole Meade; and brothers, Craig and Keith Gruber; sister-in-law, Sharon Gruber; and very special friends, Paula and Brian Daniels.

She was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Jeffrey Wendell Gruber; brother-in-law, Thomas Rehbein; sister-in-law, Wilma Sherwood; nephews, Steven Victor Bradt, Teddy Rehbein; and niece, Gwendolyn Deborah Rehbein, She loved her family and friends, watching cooking shows, making her favorite recipes, particularly her famous spaghetti and meatballs, home decorating, bargain shopping, and her faithful pug, Cleo.

The family would like to thank Dr. Virgil Rose, Danielle Fogg, and the staff at Cancer Centers of North Carolina in Raleigh, and the doctors and nurses at Wake Medical center on New Bern Avenue in Raleigh for their wonderful care.
