Beryl Nora Wright, 92, of Hebron, formerly of Florida and New York, died on Friday, August 24, 2012, at her home. Born in Hebron, she was the daughter of the late Prettyman Lee Disharoon and Letty Washington Watson Bayard.
While in Florida, she was a member of the Coco Plum Women's Club, the founder of the Miami Manhattan Club and a Girl Scout leader. She was an award-winning oil painter and loved entertaining their many friends and family.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Jack Leatherman Wright, M.D.; three children, Melanie Forrest Wright of Hebron, Robert Scheffel Wright and his wife, Louise, of Quincy, Fla., Mona Wright Schultz and her husband, Rodger, of Gloversville, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Eric Rodgers Schultz, Victor Leatherman Schultz, William Wright Schultz, Austin Scheffel Wright and his wife, Sarah Katheryn and Christopher Robert Wright; and cousins, Ronald Rayne and Dayle Rayne Rounds, both of Salisbury, Md.
She instilled in each of her children and grandchildren a love of life and a love of nature. Her passing was truly a miracle of God's grace and her zest and flair for life, as she was surrounded by all of her family and heard "Stranger In Paradise" which was composed by her late brother-in-law, Robert C. Wright, from his musical "Kismet," followed by her son, Scheffel, singing a song he composed titled, "Good Night Moon." Her passing was as elegant as she lived her life and was a true testament to God's grace and love.
A graveside memorial will be held at a later date at the Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.
Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home, P.A., 501 Snow Hill Road, Salisbury, Maryland 21804. To send condolences to the family, please visit www.hollowayfh.com.
