Entries sought for annual art show

CANAJOHARIE - The Arkell Museum and Canajoharie Library is seeking entries for its 2012 Arkell Annual Juried Art Show.

The submission deadline is noon Oct. 12, and the art will be displayed from Dec. 7 through Jan. 25. Any artist with ties to New York state may enter. Entries must fall within the following sizes: two-dimensional work must be no larger than 30 inches by 40 inches. Three-dimensional works must fit within a 20-inch circumference. An artist may submit unlimited entries at $15 per piece. Museum members are entitled to a $13-per-piece rate.

About 40 works will be chosen for inclusion in the show. Cash prizes of $100 each will be awarded in three categories. One work will be named as "Best in Show," which includes a $250 cash prize and a show in one of the Arkell Museum and Canajoharie Library's Community Galleries.
