Milk truck leaks following flip

August 29, 2012
The Leader Herald

MOHAWK-A Greene Trucking Inc. dairy truck's trailer flipped over on a rural road Tuesday.

Adam Schwabrow, first assistant chief with the Mohawk Volunteer Fire Department, said the driver of the vehicle was trying to back it into a driveway on England Road at about 12:30 p.m. The wheels fell into a culvert, causing the trailer to fall to the side while the cab stayed upright. No injuries were reported, but both the trailer and the truck suffered severe damage, he said. The truck's frame was bent and the trailer was leaking milk.

Schwabrow said GTI sent a tow truck to move the vehicle out of the ditch once the milk was pumped out. The incident took a couple of hours to fix, Schwabrow said.

Montgomery County sheriff's deputies and Mohawk Highway Department workers assisted at the scene.
