Gloria (DeBlase) Stoddard Nealon, age 84, of Gloversville, passed away Friday, August 24, 2012, at home following a long illness.

She was born November 8, 1927, in Schenectady, N.Y., to Julia DiPasquale and Stanley DeBlase. Gloria grew up in Ballston Spa with her mother and stepfather, Frank Pagano, attending Ballston Spa High School and graduating in 1945.

Gloria had a short career as a telephone operator, then married Stanley D. Stoddard of Gloversville. She became a full-time homemaker while raising two children. After Stanley's untimely death in 1972, Gloria married Joseph B. Nealon of Schenectady. Through both marriages and after, she enjoyed golfing, traveling and bridge. She was a member of Nick Stoner Golf Club for years and many bridge groups including senior citizens of Johnstown. Gloria was also an avid reader who supported the Gloversville Public Library and an active member of the Moose Club. She also worked for the Montgomery Ward Catalog and retail store for a number of years. However, Gloria's favorite pastime was enjoying the company of friends and family. Gloria will be remembered by those that knew her as someone who loved life and was forever young at heart.
