Edith R. Dilello

Mrs. Edith R. Dilello, age 88, formerly of Amsterdam, Broadalbin and Johnstown, died Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at Wells Nursing Home, Johnstown.

She was born May 5, 1924, in Needham, Mass., the daughter of the late Kenneth and Dorothy Fish Ridley. Edith graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam in 1941 and later became a cost analyst for the former Edy Brush Company of Amsterdam for 24 years. She retired in 1987.

Edith was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Broadalbin, Ida McGinnis Senior Citizens Club, the Adirondack CB Club and was past president of the Bannertown Senior Citizens Club.

She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony D. Dilello.

Survivors include: two daughters, Cindy Perkins (Clinton) of Tennessee and Michele Wozniak (Michael) of Florida; a sister, Mabel Love of Connecticut; a brother, Kenneth W. Ridley (Nancy) of Massachusetts; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary C. Peters of Johnstown; and a close friend, Mary Jo Brady of Gloversville.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home, 85 W. Main St., Broadalbin, with the Rev. Linda Martin officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Wells Nursing Home Inc., 201 W. Madison Ave., Johnstown, NY 12095 or to St. Peter's Hospital ALS Regional Center, 19 Warehouse Row, Albany, NY 12205.
