Synagogue to host open house Sabbath

GLOVERSVILLE - Knesseth Israel Synagogue, 34 E. Fulton St., will have an open house Sabbath at 7 p.m. Friday for Jewish individuals and families who are unfamiliar with the synagogue or haven't been for a while.

Interfaith families also are welcome. An Oneg will follow.

"Knesseth Israel Synagogue is a welcoming, progressive Conservative synagogue where men and women participate equally," according to a news release.

The synagogue offers after-school Hebrew school taught by the rabbi, Rose Durbin. New members will get free membership for a year.
