JOHNSTOWN - A Gloversville man filed a lawsuit Monday in state Supreme Court against National Grid, saying he was injured in May when he fell into a hole created by the company.
Daniel O'Neill of 110 Kingsboro Ave., represented by Gloversville attorney Robert Abdella, claims negligence on the part of the Syracuse-based utility. The lawsuit requests unspecified damages.
Court papers state that some time before Memorial Day, National Grid was installing a pole in front of his home and left a hole that was not refilled for a period.
The lawsuit states O'Neill was mowing and fell into the hole and hit the ground, causing permanent injuries. The suit says the fall was "with great force and violence" and he will "disabled in the future."
