Angeline J. Papa, age 92, of Gloversville, passed away quietly at home after a long illness on August 23, 2012.
Angeline attended Gloversville schools and later worked at Singer Sewing Center as a sewing teacher. She was active in the Mount Carmel Church. Angeline was the recipient of many Blue Ribbons for her floral shell designs on Marco Island, Fla.
Survivors include her husband of 71 years, Dominic S. Papa; two daughters, Bridget A. Dailey of Connecticut and Anna Mary Kraemer of Massachusetts; and a son, John B. Papa Sr. of Mayfield; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by six brothers and a sister, Vincent "James" Castiglione, Mario "Matty" Castiglione, Salvatore Castiglione, Louis Castiglione Sr., Robert E. Castiglione, Anthony Castiglione and Anna Castiglione.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m on Saturday, August 25, at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 151 S. Main Street, Gloversville. Calling hours will be held at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday.
