H.S. Golf Roundup: Husek leads Patriots to win over Huskies

GLOVERSVILLE - Kevin Johnston earned medalist honors with his round of 35, but it wasn't enough as Gloversville dropped its season-opening non-league match to Broadalbin-Perth, 165-179.

The Patriots were led by Cody Husek and Alex Bond who both shot 38, while Brett Getman had a round of 44 and Noah Scott added a 45.

Josh Fonda shot a 38 for the Huskies, while Kyle Fonda had 49 and Mike Priolo and Kyle Johnston contributed rounds of 57.

The Huskies (0-1) will tee off today for a non-league match against Fonda-Fultonville.


Schoharie 14, Canajoharie 1;

Schoharie 12, Fort Plain 3

CANAJOHARIE - Evan Ottman carded a 44 to lead Schoharie to wins over Canajoharie and Fort Plain at Canajoharie Country Club.

Cole Chase added a 47 for the Indians, while Joe Polley added a 55.

Buck Anderson led Canajoharie with a 49, while Kris Dias added a 52. Will Logan carded a 53 for the Cougars and Ken Kane finished with a 74.

Isiah Empie led the Hilltoppers with a 56.

Big 10

Troy 177, Amsterdam 195

TROY - Zane Coonrad shot a 38, leading Troy to a league victory over Amsterdam.

Mike Tambasco led the Rams with a 46.

Colonial Council

Cobleskill 193, Fonda-Fultonville 205

FORT JOHNSON - Adam Ullman carded a 44 to lead Cobleskill-Richmondville to a Colonial Council win over Fonda-Fultonville at Rolling Hills Country Club.

Jerrod Kimble had a 48 for the Bulldogs, while Matt Kelley posted a 50. Connor McCarthy and Brian Lynk each had rounds of 51 for Cobleskill-Richmondville, while Collin Haig added a 79.

Alex Wallace and Luke Calkins each posted rounds of 44 to lead FFCS. Tony Angioli added a 57 for the Braves, Justin Galusha posted a 60 and Jack Mulyca carded a 65.
