We are the parents of Anna King. Anna was unexpectedly diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy on March 30 of this year and needs a heart transplant.
On March 30, we didn't know how we would get through it. Now here we are almost five months later, and not only are we getting through it, we actually feel blessed beyond measure, because of all of you. Our hometown community has pulled together to support our girl and our family, and the outpouring has been amazing.
For every friendship pin sold, roadside lemonade stand, bake sale and fundraiser, we are so grateful. For every green bracelet or red T-shirt worn, every card sent, each encouraging message, we are blessed. For every story shared and donor card signed, we are encouraged. And for the more than 700 people that participated in Anna's benefit at Lanzi's on the Lake, we are overwhelmed by the love and support and good vibes you have sent all the way to Texas. It has made all the difference.
Anna is handling all of this with tremendous grace, courage and optimism. She will make it. And when she does, we will throw a party for the record books right there at Lanzi's, and you're all invited.
From our entire family, we miss you, we love you and we thank you all.
