Eleanor Schuyler Blakeslee, 83, passed away peacefully at a Hospice home in Dunnellon, Florida on Friday morning, August 17. Eleanor was the daughter of Leon and Esther Schuyler of Oppenheim and the wife of Albert Blakeslee, who survives. She was predeceased by brothers, Leland, Alvin and Warren; and sisters, Shirley, Madeline and Grace. Her sisters, Marilyn Henry and Jeanie Kesslering survive.
Her children are Brian Blakeslee and Kim Schuyler of Amsterdam, Bruce, Brett and James Blakeslee of Johnstown and Gloversville, Karen Blanchard of Mayfield and Diane Yager of Saratoga. Her grandchildren are Christopher, Jill and Joslyn Blakeslee, William and Jerry Sawyer, Nick and Amanda Blanchard, Raymond Hill; and six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Eleanor was educated in Oppenheim and married in 1951. She was a homemaker before her employment at the Johnstown Knitting Mill and the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility. She retired in 1991. She enjoyed baking and spending time with her family whom she loved and who will miss her dearly.
