Amber Heather Lyons, 24, of Gloversville, passed away unexpectedly August 18, 2012, at Ellis Hospital. Born in Amsterdam on November 3, 1987, she is a daughter of Ronald Lyons Jr. and Shelley Shanahan. Amber graduated from Gloversville High School where she was an avid volleyball player. She also graduated from Vo-Tec, earning a degree in cosmetology. Dancing was her special passion.
Amber is survived by her cherished son, Keegan Ronald Lyons and companion, Ryan Giovannone of Gloversville; her mother, Shelley Shanahan and companion, Joseph Morey of Johnstown; her father, Ronald Lyons Jr. and stepmother, Debbie of Johnstown; two sisters, Abbey Wilson (Joshua) of Gloversville and Shelbey Lynne Lyons and her fiance, Andrew of Johnstown; a brother, Aaron Lyons of Johnstown. She leaves aunts, Sharon Pierce (Edward), Rhonda Brown, Georga Billa (Donald) and Missy Hale (Joel). Additional survivors include a stepsister, Brittany Raykoske; a stepbrother, Skyler Pradelski; paternal grandmother, Marilyn Lyons; nieces, Alivia and Chloe; and a nephew, Kaiden; several cousins. She was predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Mabel Miller; paternal grandfather, Ronald Lyons Sr.; paternal great-grandparents, Winifred and Gordon Lyons and Mary Goodspeed.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 23, 2012, at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Expressions of sympathy in her memory, may be made to the Keegan R.
