GLOVERSVILLE - The Leader-Herald has won a third-place award from the New York State Associated Press Association for spot news reporting.
The newspaper won the 2011-12 contest award for its coverage of tropical storm Irene, written by several staff members. The entry was titled "Irene's Destructive Wake."
The paper won the award in the under-20,000-circulation category.
