B-P JV sports fundraiser Monday

August 18, 2012
By The Leader-Herald (sports@leaderherald.com) , The Leader Herald

BROADALBIN - The Broadalbin-Perth Sports Booster Club will host a fundraiser at Meadowlark Blueberry Farm from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from you-pick and pre-picked blueberries during those four hours will go toward reinstating Broadalbin-Perth's junior varsity sports teams.

Supporters can pick blueberries for $1.75 per pound or purchase pre-picked berries for $3.25 per pint.

Event organizers recommend those interested in pre-picked pints call 376-3306 to reserve their berries since Meadowlark will have a limited number of pre-picked pints available.

Meadowlark Blueberry Farm is located at 397 Stevers Mills Road.

In July, the booster club reached its goal of raising the $21,000 needed to reinstate fall JV sports. The boosters are now raising the $23,000 needed to reinstate winter and spring JV sports. Additional fundraisers will be organized after the start of school in September.
