Artist to discuss work at museum

August 13, 2012
The Leader Herald

BLUE?MOUNTAIN?LAKE?- Painter and furniture artisan Barney Bellinger, of Mayfield, will present a program Aug. 20 titled "Art, Furniture and Sculpture: Influenced by Nature."

The presentation will be held in the auditorium at 7:30 p.m. The lecture will be offered at no charge to museum members. The fee for non-members will be $5.

Bellinger, of Sampson Bog Studio, creates paintings and furnishings that are inspired by his observation of wild and quiet places.

Bellinger will discuss how nature has influenced his work as both a painter and a furniture artisan. Information and inspiration for Bellinger's work is derived through a lifestyle of exploring backwoods, ponds, lakes and mountain trails, a news release said. Foraging for raw materials is an opportunity for him to study natural forms and color, the release said.
