John and Marylee Murphy of Orrington, Maine, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristyn Murphy, to Ethan Brownell, the son of Michael and Karyl Brownell of Johnstown.
Murphy is a 2008 graduate of John Bapst Memorial High School. She is a vocalist and is attending the State University of New York at Potsdam, St. Lawrence County, where she is a senior majoring in business/music business.
Brownell is a 2006 graduate of Johnstown High School and a recent graduate of SUNY Potsdam with a degree in history. He is employed as a history instructor while working toward a master's degree in teaching at SUNY Potsdam.
