BROADALBIN - The Broadalbin Senior Citizens group met Aug. 1 for the Office for the Aging luncheon and meeting with 39 members and one guest present.
Mary Peck, chaplain, read a prayer and the reciting of "The Lord's Prayer," after which the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
The OFA luncheon was followed by the meeting with President Toni Hallenbeck presiding.
The report of Nancy Weiss, secretary, was accepted.
Vice President June Zea read the roll call.
Carol Armitage, sunshine, noted the cards she had sent out.
Ruth Lee, trip chairman, noted the trip Thursday to Cooperstown, Otsego County, will be cancelled due to low signups. The next trip will be Sept. 17 to Vermont. Contact Lee if interested.
The August birthdays were read by Eleanor Merritt and "Happy Birthday" was sung.
The cleanup committee for August is Ina Huyben and Lizzy Fulmer.
Donna Chambers, program chairman, noted the next meeting, Wednesday, will be a make-your-own-sundae day, provided by Stewart's Shops.
The program for the day was "a gossip game."
Anyone interested in the OFA luncheon for the Wednesday meeting must make reservations in advance.
All seniors are welcome.
Bring can food for the local food pantry, the group's ongoing project.
