MAYFIELD - The Bannertown 50 Plus Club met for a social hour and meeting on July 25. Before lunch, Devotions were conducted by Patrick Keane. The reading was "God is for Us." He then led the group in prayer.
President Carl Edwards opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegance. In the absence of the vice president, Edwards called the roll. Twenty were and one guest, Pat Ryfa, were present.
In Sunshine news, Jane Bonfey will continue with birthday cards to members and will send a get-well to one of our members who is in the hospital.
Nila Edwards reported on a meeting of the activities committee. Our next meeting Wednesday will be a picnic at the Rice Homestead. A "Blue" Auction will be held: Members bring something blue wrapped in blue. Everyone is to bring a place setting and drinks along with a covered dish.
After a discussion, it was decided by motion to cancel twodates in the calender: Oct. 3 and Dec. 26.
People signing up for trips must pay for the trip by the first of the month in which the trip is scheduled. If not paid, no reservation will be made for that person or those persons.
Edwards said he hopes to see all at the OFA Senior Picnic.
Drawings were held. The door prize was won by Lorrie Valk, the 50-50 by Joan Bezio and the $1 by Mid Ellithorpe.
Bingo was played. Edwards was the caller.
