It was a wonderful day in downtown Gloversville on July 21 at the fourth annual Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show, which benefited the Boys & Girls Club of Gloversville.
Beautiful and unique cars, trucks, and motorcycles lined Main Street and the town was buzzing with activity, including music from the Glove Performing?Arts Center, balloons, a bounce house for the children, and refreshments and shopping for all.
We'd like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all who made this event such a success. The Gloversville Business Improvement District has underwritten the show for the past four years. This year the Main Street businesses also joined in with special sales and events on the sidewalk. Thank you to the city of Gloversville, the Gloversville Police Department, the Gloversville school district, the DPW, and especially Jim Walsh. They are incredible to work with. To Art and Colleen Rumrill, to their friends Kurt, Keith and others and to the whole car, truck and motorcycle community - thank you.
This year, we had volunteers from Kohl's, Frontier, and our special friends from the Adirondack Foothills RV Campground working hard to make the show a success, as well as our Boys & Girls Club kids who were proud and eager to work for their club.
Thank you to the many area businesses that supported the show with donations and raffle items, including Tag's Upholstery, Esler's Garage, Skip's Service, Giff's Auto Repair, Glove City Sports Lounge, Gloversville Police Benevolent Association, Hart's Motorsports, Chad's Second Gear, AutoZone, Napa, HotRod Hotline, Monroe Muffler, Cole Muffler, Mavis, Whitey's Deli, Steet Toyota, Nethaway Motorcar, Adirondack Express Lube, Pour Jim's, Adirondack Convenience, Sprakers Tatoo and our vendors who supplied beauty, food, and fun for all. Please forgive us if we've left anyone out.
Thank you to everyone who came to Gloversville to support the club with your efforts, donations and presence. It is wonderful to know that the community recognizes the need for the programs and services the club provides to Fulton?County youth and the value of having a safe, productive and positive place for our young people to learn and grow in off-school hours and during the summer.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone at next year's Boys & Girls Club Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show.
