Elizabeth Margaret Hilly of Ballston Spa, N.Y. died peacefully surrounded by family members on July 29, 2012 at The Maplewood Manor Nursing Home in Ballston Spa.
Elizabeth, also known as Betty, was a former resident of Gloversville. She was born August 25, 1925, in Baltimore, Md. She was the wife of Richard Hilly (predeceased) also from Gloversville. Betty was a wonderful wife and mother. Her life was a special gift to everyone who knew her. She devoted her life to caring for her family and friends.
Betty loved family times and cherished her grandchildren who brought her smiles and laughter. Her favorite pastimes were listening to books on tape, playing bingo and watching Regis & Kelly and The Wheel of Fortune. Betty also loved going out to restaurants for lunch and dinner. She was a fan of the outdoor patio at Maplewood Manor as she loved the outdoors and sunshine.
She is survived by her son Christopher Hilly and wife Susan of Johnstown, daughters, Janet Nicolella of Lakeland, Fla., Pamela Crispino and husband Angelo of Ballston Lake, Grandchildren, Jenna Crispino, Saratoga Springs, Lauren Crispino, Ballston Lake, Maddie and Stella Allen Grayson Georgia, nieces, Kathleen Geizer , Baltimore, Md., Betty Ann Zeller, Frederick, Maryland, and Theresa Garland and family, Mechanicville, and Brother in law Gordon Hilly, Gloversville.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff and nursing care at the Maplewood Manor for the loving care she was given during her time there.
Cremation was at Vale Crematory, Schenectady.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 14 at the Church of the Holy Spirit, Gloversville. Urn interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville immediately following the Mass.
