Carmela Semprevio, 96 of Gloversville, passed away Monday, July 30, 2012 at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home. Carmela was born January 13, 1916 to the late Phillip and Mary Ronza Semprevio.
Carmela was loving adored by her family and she leaves many wonderful memories. Carmela's family would like to send many warm wishes, appreciations and thank yous to the Staff at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home for the kindness and loving care given to her and her family.
Carmela was a devoted sewer. She worked for 83 years in various Leather Shops in Gloversville. She also volunteered many hours at the Willing Helpers Store. She was devoted member of the Church of the Holy Spirit. Carmela taught Sunday School, and was a Eucharist Minister, and actively involved wherever she was needed.
Carmela is survived by her sisters Ida Tucci and Virginia Zambri of Gloversville; also several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Patrick , Henry and James Caputo; Ralph & Jerry Semprevio; Mary DeSantis, Jennie Caldara, Ann Semprevio and Gloria Kovarovic.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2012 from 10:00-11:00 am at Amico Funeral Home, followed by a 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Holy Spirit. Burial will take place at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown, NY.
