Raymond F. Hladik

Raymond F. Hladik was born on October 8, 1920, in Johnstown, N.Y. to Pavel (Paul) & Julia Hladik. He died on July 29, 2012, after a long illness in Fort Pierce, Fla. with his loving wife & family by his side. He was a construction foreman for Thomas W. Randall Construction for over 40 years. He was a longtime member & president of the Fulton County Mineral Club & had a love for rocks & minerals. He was the Herkimer Diamond (King). He was a member of St. Anthony's church in Johnstown. He loved traveling, gardening, reading, playing bridge, & sipping his port wine while visiting with his many friends & family. He spoke Czechoslovakian fluently.

He married Phyllis R. Drumm Ryan on April 20, 1968. He was predeceased by his parents Pavel (Paul) & Julia Hladik, his brothers Paul Hladik, John Hladik, Fred Hladik & Anthony Hladik all of Johnstown & 2 sisters Marion Orsell of Johnstown & Rose Bulga of Schenectady. He is survived by his wife Phyllis Hladik of Fort Pierce, Fl, 3 devoted stepchildren, John P. Ryan (Beth) of Port St. Lucie, Fl, Sharon Ryan Cardinale (Richard) of Valley Cottage, NY & Janice Ryan of Gloversville. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren & many nieces & nephews.

There will be a memorial service held on Saturday for family at the Lynmoore Assisted Living in Fort Pierce, Fl. The family would like to especially thank the wonderful staff at The Lynmoore Assisted Living Facility for all of their care & also the staff at the Treasure Coast Hospice. Their caring & loving ways were appreciated in this difficult time. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Treasure Coast Hospice, Midway Road, Fort Pierce, Fl 34950. He was a very loving & kind man & he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
