Lawrence Dattorre, age 56, of Johnstown, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 29, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam, after a long illness.
He was born on August 26, 1955 in the Bronx, a son of the late Angelo and Carmela Manente Dattorre. "Larry" was employed for many years as a Building Superintendent with Local 32BJ in Manhattan. After retiring he and his wife, Kathleen moved to Fulton County.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen Dunningan Dattorre, who he married on December 10, 1977, one brother Michael Dattorre of Rotterdam; two sisters Denise (Wayne) Hudson of Johnstown and Louise (Jimmy) Smith of the Bronx; one uncle Vincent "Sonny" Manente, mother-in-law Margaret Dunningan, three brothers-in-law James (Becky) Dunningan, George Dunningan and Eugene Rinehart, cousins Joseph Dattorre of Johnstown, Michele Dattorre of Johnstown and Michael Dattorre of Willow and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother Angelo Dattorre and sister-in-law Ellen Rinehart.
Cremation was at Vale Crematory, Schenectady.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 4th at the Holy Trinity Church, Glebe Street, Johnstown.
Urn interment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery immediately following the Mass.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of St. Mary's Hospital (Maria Hall) and the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice for their professionalism and compassion they demonstrated in caring for "Larry."
