July 31, 2012
The Leader Herald

GLOVERSVILLE - BJ Rosenfeld, a writer and lecturer, will speak at Knesseth Israel Synagogue, 34 E. Fulton St, at Sabbath services Friday.

"The Chameleon in the Closet: A Conservative Jewish Mother Reaches Out to Her Orthodox Sons" is Rosenfeld's book about her family's experiences as her sons look beyond their Conservative Jewish upbringing and embrace Orthodoxy, according to a news release.

"The book will resound with all parents who struggle with accommodating themselves to their children becoming adults and making their own decisions about how they want to live their lives," the release said.

Knesseth Israel Synagogue is a conservative synagogue with egalitarian services. Friday Sabbath services begin at 7 p.m. and are led by Rabbi Rose Durbin.

Refreshments will follow the services and presentation. Books will not be on sale on Friday evening but can be ordered through the synagogue.
