Lewis M. Bolebruch, age 87, of Gloversville, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at the Mountain Valley Hospice House, Gloversville after a long illness.
He was born on July 19, 1925, in Johnstown, the son of the late Ladislav and Julia Bolebruch. Lewis attended Gloversville public schools. He was employed in the machine shop at Fulton County Silk Mills prior to entering military service in 1950. Mr. Bolebruch served with the United States Army but was attached to the Air Force while stationed in Korea.
In May of 1956, he married the former June Katherine Van Skiver who survives.
After his discharge from service in 1953, he was employed as a mechanic at John C. Miller Inc., later becoming Service Manager there in 1963. He remained in that position until he retired in 1987.
Mr. Bolebruch was a member of St. Anthony's Church in Johnstown and the United States Power Squadron from which he held a certificate for Piloting, Seamanship and Small Boat Handling. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association and the Air Force Association.
Beside his wife, he is survived by one son, Alan R. Waschak; one granddaughter, Aelyn Romleski; three brothers, Frank, Charles and George Bolebruch; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the College of Veterinary Medicine, Cornell University, Ithaca, New York 14853-6401 for use in care of small animals and research to improve health of same.
In keeping with Lewis' wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
Cremation will be at Vale Crematory, Schenectady.
