Joseph P. Dona, 69, of Gloversville, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville.
Joseph was born on June 9, 1943, in Amsterdam, the son of the late Richard and Mildred (Seward) Dona.
On August 29, 1964, he married Nancy Dona. They shared over forty years of marriage until her passing in 2004.
Joseph was employed as a machinist at General Electric in Schenectady.
He was an avid baseball fan, especially the New York Mets. Joe served as President of the Gloversville Little League in 1979. Most of all, he enjoyed going to his children and grandchildren's sporting events and never missed a game. He will be sadly missed.
Survivors include a son, Thomas Dona (Ronnie) of Gloversville; a daughter, Tracy Vet (Joseph) of Gloversville; four grandchildren, Cameron, Katie, Ashley and Aaron; a brother, William Dona (Linda) of Pattersonville; three sisters, Mary Lou Snyder (Gerald) of South Carolina, Linda Ross (Ralph) of Gloversville, Sherry Starr (Warren) of Rotterdam; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends are invited and may call Friday, July 27, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY 12078.
