To Rosemary Newton, who wrote the Friday letter, "Deja vu on return to city."
Are you kidding? You think putting up a new mega-box store is good for the status of Gloversville? This enterprise destroyed a beautiful forest.
We don't love companies that don't love the environment. You might think this big box improves the economy, but it doesn't hire that many people, and why destroy three important ecological indicators (the forest is cool, provides habitat to many and removes air pollutants) for what - an ugly building with a hot, tar parking lot?
Shame on the community for allowing this "progress" to occur without looking to the future. There are so many more ways to bring jobs and business to a community than allowing this kind of devastation.
