Jonathan I. DeJesus, 13, of Amsterdam, passed away suddenly on July 9, 2012. Born in Hudson, N.Y. on November 3, 1998, he is the son of Bridget Masesie and Nector J. DeJesus.
Jonathan was a student at Lynch Middle School in Amsterdam. He enjoyed playing sports starting with T-ball and was player number 43 on last year's Superbowl winning Little Giants Football Team. He also liked to play basketball. Jonathan liked to listen to music, go on Faceboook and hang out with friends and family. He was a devoted friend to many and a proud big brother. He also loved to watch hours of the Avatar cartoon with his uncle, Moe. Jonathan's smile was infectious and his goofiness contagious to all.
In addition to his parents, Bridget Masesie and Nector J. DeJesus, Jonathan is survived by his siblings, Amanda Masesie, Autumn Mackey, Vivian Mackey, Kaiden Lewis, Christian J. DeJesus, Nector J. DeJesus Jr., and Gabriel L. DeJesus; grandparents, John Masesie, Hector and Ana DeJesus, Charles and Deborah Tiano and Nicholas Lewis; aunts and uncles, Hector I. DeJesus, Candice Masesie, Moises Fuentes Jr., Michael, Julia, Nicholas, Laura, Mary, Cuppy, Joseph, Marc, Brianne, Aracelis, Hector Louis, Hector Joel, Linda, Dayna and Aracelys; cousins, Destany, Joshua, Imya and Devine. Several other aunts, uncles cousins and many friends also survive.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, July 25, 2012, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010. A funeral service for Jonathan will be held privately and at the convenience of his family.
