Community makes aiding library possible

July 20, 2012
The Leader Herald

Recently, members of the community came together for an afternoon of music with the Intermountain Trio - Don Golden, Michael McAllister and Tim Keegan - to benefit the Friends of the Gloversville Library.

Many enjoyed the concert in a wonderful venue, the former Fulton?County YWCA building. Hannah and Michael McAllister purchased this building and in doing so, not only converted it to a great concert hall for the Trio and other musicians, but saved a downtown landmark from being just another vacant building.

The Friends of the Library work hard to support the library in any possible way. With help from many, we are able to offer programs to all people of the community, as well as fund library issues that need financial support.

The funds we raise come in the form of fundraisers held throughout the year: Book/bake sales, the Celebration, spring concert and also memberships. The Friends of the Gloversville Library would to thank you who continue to support our efforts. Without you, our job would be impossible.
