Man pleads guilty to burglary charge

July 19, 2012
The Leader Herald

JOHNSTOWN - A Gloversville man accused in a spring break in at the Gloversville Moose Club pleaded guilty Tuesday in Fulton County Court to two counts of third-degree burglary.

Jason D. Moyer, 20, of 39 West St. entered his plea before Judge Polly A. Hoye. Sentencing was adjourned until a later date, but he is expected to receive three to nine years in state prison as part of a plea arrangement. He is slated to receive two consecutive terms of 1 1/2 to 4 1/2 years on each burglary count.

Fulton County sheriff's deputies arrested Moyer on March 28 for breaking into the Gloversville Moose Club off East State Street in the town of Johnstown.

Deputies at the time said he was one of three people that broke into the club in March with the intent to steal property. Deputies said the suspects already were in jail for other burglaries in the area, including in the Glove Cities. The legal status of the other suspects - Joseph R. Ryle III, 19, of 35 Third St., Gloversville, and Austin G. Syzdek, 18, of 39 West St., Gloversville - could not be determined this morning.
