FONDA - Sprint Cup champion Tony Stewart will compete at Fonda Speedway when the University of Northwestern Ohio All-Star Circuit of Champions 410 Sprint cars compete at the Track of Champions on Thursday.
Stewart will compete in one of his self-owned Office Depot/Mobil 1 sponsored Sprint cars.
Racing action will begin at 7 p.m. with pit gates opening at 4 p.m. and the front gates opening at 5 p.m.
Admission for the event, which also will include a 40-lap feature event paying $4,000 for the modifieds, will be $30 for general admission; children ages 6-11 $3; and children under the age of 5 are free. For ticket information, call the speedway office at 518-382-3115.
Stewart recently ran with the All Star Circuit of Champions 410 Sprint cars at the Utica Rome Speedway where he finished the event in the fifth position after starting way back in the field in the 19th starting spot.
This will be the third trip to the Track of Champions for the All Star Circuit of Champions 410 Sprint cars with Daryn Pittman winning the inaugural event back in 2010 while Tim Shaffer took the win last year in 2011.
Last year Fred Rahmer set a new track record for the 410 Sprint cars with a time of 15.110 seconds, which equaled out to an unofficial average speed of 119 mph replacing the old record set by Tyler Walker on July, 28, 2002, of 15.281 seconds.
