ST. JOHNSVILLE-Police said a Johnstown man was arrested for calling in a bomb threat to a St. Johnsville residence Tuesday night.
Adam Rose, 29, of 103 Gilbert St., Johnstown, was charged with second-degree falsely reporting an incident at 6:13 p.m. Tuesday night.
Village Police Chief Diana Callen said Rose called in a bomb threat to 9 Monroe St. in the village at 10:42 p.m. Saturday. Village police and Montgomery County sheriff's deputies searched the home, but no bomb was found. Working with Gloversville police, village police tracked the call to Rose, who was interviewed Sunday. An arrest warrant was issued for Rose on Tuesday.
The motive for the crime was "loneliness," Callen said.
Callen said Rose told police in an interview that he had been randomly calling numbers and happened to connect to a village residence.
Rose was still in custody this morning at Montgomery County Jail. Rose was being held on $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond.
