MAYFIELD - Two people were charged by Fulton County sheriff's deputies Thursday in connection with several burglaries in the town.
Sheriff Thomas Lorey reported the arrests of Shane R. Laport, 17, of 922 County Highway 123, and Gary A. Ligon, 23, who claims to be homeless. Each was charged with second-degree burglary and fourth-degree grand larceny.
Both were sent to the county jail in lieu of bail, and Lorey said the department is continuing to investigate.
Lorey said a search warrant recently was executed at 922 County Highway 123, where investigators recovered property.
