A trio of local high school baseball players were among 32 Section II athletes selected to the New York State Sportswriters Association state all-star teams.
Fort Plain's Harold Dettmer and Chris Hanifin were selected to the Class C team, while Fonda-Fultonville's Kody Shaw was selected to the Class B squad.
Dettmer, who graduated in June, and Hanifin, who will be a senior, were selected to the third team.

Shaw, who also graduated, was named to the Class B seventh team.
Dettmer, an outfielder and pitcher, compiled a team-leading .507 batting average with three home runs and 10 doubles to his credit for the Hilltoppers. He was a Western Athletic Conference first team all-star selection.
Hanifin, also a WAC first-team all-star, played first base and pitched for the Hilltoppers. He finished the season with a .477 batting average.
Other Section II players earning all-state honors in Class C included Voorheesville's Kevin Connolly (first team), Galway's Kyle Collins (second team), Voorheesville's Mike Chiseri (fourth team), Rensselaer's Will Brooking (fourth team), Hoosic Valley's Ron Morello (fifth team) and Rensselaer's Tim Burek (fifth team).
Shaw was first-team Colonial Council all-star for the 14-9 Braves. He fired a no-hitter for Fonda-Fultonville on April 27 against Council rival Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk.
"He probably was one of the more dominant pitchers in our league because he could throw hard," Fonda-Fultonville coach Rick Palumbo said earlier this year. "He could dominate teams with strikeouts and didn't have to rely on his defense as much as some of our other pitchers. His no-hitter against Ravena took just an hour and 20 minutes to play."
Also earning all-state honors in Class B from Section II were Albany Academy's Tyler Hynes (first team), Catskill'sCameron Overbaugh (third team), Hudson's Mavist Frederick (fourth team), Schalmont's Nick Pascarella (fifth team) and Albany Academy's Justin Brock (sixth team).
In Class AA, LaSalle senior Zach Remillard was named to the first team. Also earning all-state honors in Class AA from Section II were CBA's Matt Sand (second team), Shenendehowa's Miles Kelly (third team), Niskayuna's David Hoffman (fourth team), Columbia's Connor Ramon (sixth team) and Columbia's A.J. Maney (seventh team).
In Class A, Lansingburgh senior Ryan McGrath was named to the first team. Three Glens Falls players all-state honors in Class A as Nick McKinney (second team), Zach Milton (second team) and Mike Harrington (fourth team) were honored.
Also earning all-state honors in Class A from Section II were Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake's Danny Maynard (sixth team) and Catholic Central's Brad Adams (seventh team).
In Class D, Fort Ann's Joe Foran and Jeff Johnson were named to the first team.
Other Section II players earning Class D all-state honors were Salem's Kris Payne (second team), Salem's Nick Burch (second team), Loudonville Christian's Ryan Paulsen (third team) and Loudonville Christian's Tyler Spence (third team).
