Police: Trio were fighting in creek

July 9, 2012
The Leader Herald

GLOVERSVILLE - City police arrested three men and charged them with disorderly conduct Sunday evening when the allegedly drunken trio was found fighting in the Cayadutta Creek, near the Rail Trail.

Joshua Coadney, 35, of 87 North St., Robert C. Wagoner, 50, of 46 Grand St. and Anthony Consolazio, 44, of 22 East St. were charged on the violation.

Police said while officers were investigating another complaint of a fight, they discovered Coadney, Wagoner and Consolazio fighting in the creek near Grand Street and the Rail Trail.

For an unknown reason, police said, the fight began when Wagoner and Coadney began fighting with Consolazio, who was walking on the street.

Coadney and Wagoner were sent to Fulton County Correctional Facility. Consolazio was released on an appearance ticket.

The arrest of the three men fighting in the creek followed an investigation into an earlier fight yesterday, police said.

Police said the first fight allegedly started between city resident Derek Kenney, 43 and Coadney. The pair allegedly fought over a bicycle and backpack belonging to Kenney, police said. The argument near North and Bleecker streets eventually fizzled out, police said, with Coadney walking away.

Kenney was not charged with any crime.
