MAYFIELD - A County Highway 123 resident attempted suicide after lighting his house and garage on fire Sunday, Fulton County Sheriff Thomas J. Lorey said today.
Lorey said he cannot release the man's name, but said the man slit his throat and is currently hospitalized. He said the distraught man set his own house and garage on fire in a "bizarre" incident.
The sheriff said the Mayfield and Northville volunteer fire departments, assisted by others, battled the blazes on County Highway 123, also known as the Mountain Road
