Doris Connolly passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2012, in Hood River, Oregon. She was born in Gloversville, N.Y. on May 13, 1925. Doris grew up at 33 E. State St., in this town, nestled in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains, met John (Jack) Connolly here, and they married in 1949.
She graduated from Simmons College in Boston, Mass. Doris and Jack lived in New York City, Ohio, Kentucky and Oregon. Their three children were born and raised in Louisville, Ky. Doris was a Home Economics Teacher for Jefferson County Schools and for St. Agnes Parish in Louisville for many years. She golfed, fished, tried to garden and dedicated her life lovingly to her family.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Jack. She is survived by her children, Jan Connolly Manns (Joe) of Concord, Calif., Pat Connolly (Susan Gutenberger) of Cook, Wash., and Kathleen Ellis (Don) of Corvallis, Ore.; and by five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held later this summer in Corvallis, Oregon.
