Louise A. Shibley, age 99, of Gloversville, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2012, at Nathan Littauer Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born on April 1, 1913, in Ilion, the daughter of the late Ernest and Anna Alfsen MacRorie.
Louise was employed at Clyde Bank Knitting Mill in Fort Plain, Arkel & Smith Bag Factory in Canajoharie and lastly at Robison & Smith. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Gloversville and the Mayfield United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: one son, Elton Brownell of Johnstown; one daughter, Adeline (Wilfred) Brownell Bowley of Florida; six grandchildren, Barbara Petrones, Ellen Anadio, Elaine Augustine, Roger Bowley, Terry Ann Wilson and Richard Bowley; fourteen great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Russell Shibley; three siblings; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 3, at 3 p.m. at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 East Main Street, Johnstown. Family and friends may call prior to the service from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Freysbush Cemetery, Fort Plain.
