Lila D. Blowers, 75, of Mayfield, died Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam following a long illness. She was born in Saratoga, N.Y., on November 1, 1936, the daughter of the late Lial and Madeline Madison Burton. She was employed as a nurse's aide for many years, lastly at the Getman Home in Gloversville.
She was a member of the Baptist Church of Northville
On February 1, 1958, she married Norwood A. Blowers, who predeceased her on October 6, 2004.
Survivors include her son, Brian (Sue Macklin) Blowers of Mayfield; her daughter, Lory (Doug) Gifford of Mayfield; three brothers and four sisters, Kenney Burton, David Burton, Ted Burton, Martha VanAlstyne, Rose Seelow, Violet O'Neil and Charmain Ostrander. Three grandchildren, Jamie Malatino, Natasha (Chad Town) Gifford and Amy Bishop; three great-grandchildren, Ethan and Gavin Malatino and Alana Bishop; one honorary grandson, Christopher Buyce, and her special puppy, Bryce, also survive her.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and her two brothers, Richard and William.
Friends may call on Tuesday, July 3, 2012, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Northville Funeral Home, where a funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be in King Cemetery, town of Northampton.
