Closing ceremonies

July 1, 2012
The Leader Herald
The Gloversville Little League hosted its closing ceremonies Saturday. Among those in attendance was the 1992 board of directors, who voted to purchase Parkhurst Field from the Parkhurst family. Also announced at the event was the renaming of the concession stand, which will now be know as the William P. Kratky Clubhouse. Kratky mapped out the Little League facility in 1955 and laid out the fields.  He also built the concession stand building in 1961. Kratsky’s son, Michael, was present and donated a check for $5,000 from his family to the Gloversville Little League. Also during the ceremony, Gloversville Little League Vice President David Karpinski, Judge Best, trustee of the Argersinger Trust Fund, and Debbie Buck, personal trust officer of NBT Bank on behalf of the Argersinger Fund and the Perrella Trust Fund, presented the league with a check for $27,000 as part of a grant initiative from the Perrella Trust and the Argersinger Trust. The $32,000 donated Saturday will go into the league's buildings and grounds fund, which will help launch the league’s next capital improvement campaign. (Photo submitted)
